CANADIAN FOODGRAINS BANK

Fifteen Christian churches and church-based agencies representing over 30 denominations work together as Canadian Foodgrains Bank – “A Christian Response To Hunger”. The Church of the Nazarene Canada is one of those denominations and is represented by NCM Canada.

NCMC / CFGB programming of food, seed, food security and nutrition projects is carried out through the Nazarene World Mission network, helping local Nazarene churches in developing countries respond to food needs in their communities.

NCMC / CFGB funded projects last year included...

  • Food Aid Project – Nepal (1,000) families

  • Nutrition and Food Security Project – Bangladesh (21,000 families)

  • Seed Project – Nepal (1,200 families)

  • Food For Work and Food Security Project – Bangladesh (6,700 families)

Much of our program is matched 4:1 by the Canadian Government through an agreement with CFGB.

Some examples of what your gift could fund...

  • $3 when matched 4:1 becomes $15 which will provide vegetable seeds for a home garden for one family

  • $10 when matched 4:1 becomes $50 which will feed a family for a month.

  • $75 when matched 4:1 becomes $375 which will provide food and trainers for 21 days of cooking demonstrations and nutritional counselling, to teach mothers in one community how to prepare nutritious meals using locally available foods

  • $100 when matched 4:1 becomes $500 which will feed 10 families for a month.

  • $1,000 when matched 4:1 becomes $5,000 which will feed 100 families for a month.
