It has been just one year since the explosion in Beirut Lebanon and the situation there has deteriorated significantly. The Lebanese pound is devalued by more than 90%. Inflation is rampant. It is estimated that about 70% of households do not have enough food. There are severe shortages of food, gas, milk and other essentials in the market and items that are available for purchase are beyond the reach of many. Currently 2.5 kg of baby formula costs nearly a whole month's wages for an average worker.

Anger, frustration and despair are prevalent. The caretaker Prime Minister says that the country is on the verge of economic collapse.  People are near the breaking point.

Nazarene Compassionate Ministries is responding to requests from our Nazarene churches and a Nazarene school in Lebanon. He is in constant communication with the District Superintendent and the director of the school. The needs are great. Container shipments from the US are planned but they takes weeks to arrive.

A container shipment from Compassionate Resource Warehouse that was in port during the explosion, has been uncovered and it appears that the contents are still usable. We praise God for this miracle!

Pray for the people of Lebanon who are struggling to survive.  Pray for our church leaders and for the schools that they can continue to minister to the people and bring hope in the face of despair.

Give to help support the school so that it can stay open and children can continue their education and experience some normalcy during these difficult times. NCM Canada is continuing to support this school and the children and their families.

Thank you for your gifts of compassion for those in need during these perilous times.

Four children sitting on rubble.

Jesus helped people where there was need, and when there was need.

NCM Canada wants to be ready to help when the need arises as well. Whether it is devestation as the result of a natural disaster, or the fall out from war - we want to be ready to go and provide the necessary help.

This is one of the reasons why we are so grateful for supporters who provide regular, monthly support.  By having funds come in on each month, we are able to have a better idea of how much we will have to work with, should an emergency occur.

NCM Canada partners with other organizations to provide the appropriate response based on the situation.

Each gift will be used as designated except where any given need has been fully met or in the case when the specified project(s) cannot be reasonably carried out, then the donor agrees that the designated gift may be used where it is needed most.
