PROJECTS
USA/CANADA
NCM Canada supports local church ministries of compassion in Canada. Churches are uniquely positioned and embedded into the fabric of the communities they belong to. In Canada, NCM Canada has supported local church responses to individuals and families affected by things like extreme weather (floods & wildfires), refugee resettlement, anti-human trafficking, ministries to indigenous communities and more.
If you have a compassionate initiative or an idea of an initiative being led and implemented through your local Nazarene church, contact us to learn more about how NCM Canada can support you.
Ottawa Haitian (Refugee Response)
Haiti is plagued by extreme gang violence, political instability, and targeted threats. This leaves many experiencing severe food insecurity, lack of opportunity, and daily struggles to survive in a broken society. Many individuals and families from Haiti have arrived in Canada seeking safety and spiritual support.
Église Évangélique du Nazaréen d’Ottawa is supporting refugees from Haiti in their community. In addition to meeting physical and material needs, such as food, clothing, housing, and transportation, the church is also providing hands on support through résumé preparation, job search, and interview skill building. They are hosting a Newcomer Open Door Event, where local organizations such as settlement agencies, employment services, language programs, and community support networks will be present. The purpose is to connect families directly with long term resources, strengthen their access to services, build resilience and reduce isolation.
CANADIAN FOCUSES
REFUGEE RESETTLEMENT
In partnership with local churches across Canada, we support refugee resettlement ministries that walk alongside newcomer families as they begin life in new communities. These initiatives respond to both immediate needs and long-term integration, offering practical care and ongoing support.

All projects are led by local churches or districts with clear ministry objectives, ensuring each response is rooted in relationship, compassion, and holistic Christ-centered care.
ANTI-HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Through trusted global partnerships, we support initiatives that care for children and adults who are survivors of human trafficking. These programs provide safe environments where survivors can begin a journey of healing, restoration, and renewed hope.

Support may include safe shelter, medical and psychological care, trauma-informed counselling, and spiritual care, as well as pathways toward long-term stability through family reunification or other supportive living arrangements. Each initiative is shaped by local context and focused on the wellbeing of every individual.
INDIGENOUS MINISTRIES

Working alongside local churches engaged in ministry to Indigenous communities across Canada, we support initiatives that respond to both immediate and long-term needs as identified by the communities themselves.

All projects are led by local churches or districts with clear ministry objectives, ensuring they are grounded in relationship, accountability, and a commitment to holistic care and community-led transformation.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE

Across Canada, we work through local church partnerships to respond quickly in times of crisis. When emergencies arise, we come alongside church leaders to support immediate relief efforts and provide practical assistance to those affected.
Together, we strengthen the church’s ability to care for their communities with compassion and readiness, offering timely support that reflects Christ’s love in moments of urgent need.
