GIVING TUESDAY
Give Compassion. Change Today. Shape Tomorrow.
This Giving Tuesday, support Gifts in Kind & Livelihoods, two ministries that meet urgent needs and create long-term impact.
When you give to NCM Canada this Giving Tuesday, your support creates impact in two powerful ways. Gifts in Kind provides urgently needed items, such as medical equipment, school supplies, and sewing machines, helping communities face immediate challenges. Livelihoods programs go a step further by offering seeds, tools, and training that help families start small businesses and grow long-term income. Together, these ministries ensure people have what they need today while building stability for tomorrow.

This year, NCM Canada is raising support for two ministries that work together to make a lasting difference.
Gifts in Kind meets today’s urgent needs with items like:
-
Practical supplies for families in crisis
-
School materials and desks
-
Medical supplies and equipment
-
Tools and machinery to strengthen local churches
Livelihoods equips people for tomorrow’s sustainable future through:
-
Seeds and agricultural tools
-
Training for farmers
-
Tailoring and sewing programs for women
-
Resources to start small businesses

IMPACT STORIES
A woman who joined a tailoring class located at the local Nazarene Church, where sewing machines were provided.
“We used to suffer when there was no rain [because as farmers we wouldn’t make money] but now we are able to go to the neighbouring villages to sell our items. With the money we gain, we can help our families but also help each other from the sewing group. I help my family by making clothes for them so we do not have to buy them. We are not only making clothes for our own families but we have made uniforms for the local school and also, we’ve made sanitary pads for the girls at the school. We give the sanitary pads to the teachers so they can distribute them when needed. With this project, gender-based violence has been reduced in the home. Before we had to ask our husbands for money but now, we have money to support our families. There is now peace in my home.” - Best Kanyask

A community that received a container and later turned it into a ministry office.
After NCM Canada food assistance distribution back in 2016 a shipping container sat empty at the Nazarene mission compound. In 2022 the idea arose to use the empty container as NCM Malawi's office space as they did not have one. NCMC supported with revamping this container to a suitable office space. Today the office is fully functional and allow staff to have a space to run meetings, house their documents and their daily operations. The hope is that the NCM Malawi office will also serve as a training ground for all things compassionate ministry work.

Farmer grows her business through the assistance of farmer trainings.
Roda is a participant of the CA project in Thyolo, Malawi, and has 3 children depending on her. Through CA she has learned mulching, crop rotation, intercropping, composting and minimal tillage, and she owns a shop stand selling soap, oil, fish, drinks, flour and more. Through the village savings and loan group (VSLG), she learned financial management, took a loan and expanded her shop, with the goal that farming will cover food needs and VSLG will cover other needs like school fees and medication. She said, “My goal is to help the church… just as God has helped me, I want to help the church back… God has been faithful to me. I also need to be faithful.” “First, I want to say thank you for showing us how to do savings and loans groups. This has helped me learn how to expand my business and improve my household condition,” Roda shared.
