On June 24, 2026, powerful earthquakes struck northern Venezuela, affecting families, communities and local churches.

Since then, Nazarene churches and volunteers have been responding with practical assistance, compassionate care and the hope of Christ.

September 2026 Update
Local Churches Putting Faith in Action
In the weeks following the earthquakes, local Nazarene churches and volunteers have continued serving affected communities.

Nazarene volunteers have provided hot meals, food packages and relief supplies, while medical volunteers have served alongside first responders and search-and-rescue teams. Local churches continue to be present as families begin the process of recovery.

Recovery Takes Time. Presence Matters.
As communities move toward recovery, families continue to face damaged homes, disrupted livelihoods and the long process of rebuilding.

Because local Nazarene churches are rooted in these communities, they can remain present—walking alongside families, responding to changing needs and sharing the hope of Christ through practical expressions of compassion.

WHAT HAPPENED
On June 24, 2026, two powerful earthquakes struck northern Venezuela, causing widespread destruction and significant humanitarian need. Homes, businesses and infrastructure were damaged, including Nazarene churches and the homes and livelihoods of church members.​
