Two Powerful Earthquakes Devastate Northern Venezuela

On June 24, 2026 two powerful earthquakes struck northern Venezuela just seconds apart, causing widespread destruction.

The disaster comes at a time when Venezuela is already facing ongoing political and economic hardship. Hundreds of lives have been lost, thousands have been injured, and millions of people have been affected. Search and rescue efforts continue as communities begin the long road to recovery.

How Nazarene Churches Are Responding

Nazarene churches across Venezuela are already serving their communities.

Local church leaders are assessing damage, caring for families, and coordinating compassionate relief efforts. Initial reports indicate damage to church buildings, loss of livelihoods for church members, and pastors waiting for news of missing family members.

As needs become clearer, local churches are preparing to provide:

Emergency food assistance
Medical supplies and care
Construction materials
Practical support for affected families
Christ-centered care and hope for hurting communities

This response is being led by local Nazarene churches that know their communities and are committed to serving them in the name of Jesus.
